آخ! سكّةٌ على الأرض

في وقت النوم، داس بابا على قطعة سكّة. «آخ!» وأخذ يقفز على قدمٍ واحدة.

At bedtime, Baba stepped on a train track. "Ouch!" he said, hopping on one foot.

فضحكت لينا، ثمّ توقّفت وقالت: «آسفة يا بابا. سأرتّب السكّة.»

Lina giggled, then stopped. "Sorry, Baba. I'll put the track away," she said.

قطعة، قطعتان، ثلاث... ودخلت السكّة كلّها علبتها. طق! وأُغلق الغطاء.

One piece, two pieces, three pieces... all the track went into its box. Click! Lid on.

ضحك بابا: «الآن قدماي في أمان»، ودثّرها في السرير. ليلة سعيدة! النهاية.

"Now my feet are safe," laughed Baba, and tucked Lina into bed. Goodnight! The end.

Talk about it together: Which toys will we put back first tomorrow?

Make tidying a game: a song, a race against the timer, or "find everything red".
Give every toy a home: boxes or shelves with a picture on the front.
Tidy together at the same time each evening, so it becomes part of bedtime.
