When Baba came in to say goodnight, he stopped at the door. Blocks, books, a teddy and a pile of puzzle pieces blocked the way to the bed. "Uh oh," said Baba. "There's been a terrible traffic jam. I can't get through to say goodnight!"
Lina giggled and grabbed her yellow tow truck. "Don't worry, Baba. Emergency tow service!" She hooked the little crane onto a block, drove it across the rug and dropped it into the toy box with a clunk.
Baba directed traffic, waving his arms like a policeman. The tow truck took the books to the shelf and the teddy to the bed. The puzzle pieces went into their box in a big convoy of trips. Bit by bit, a road appeared across the floor.
"The road is open!" Lina cheered. Baba walked all the way to the bed and sat down. "Thank you, tow service," he said, and tucked her in. The tow truck parked by the pillow, and Lina fell asleep in a tidy room. The end.
Talk about it together: Which toys will we put back first tomorrow?
