قصة قبل النوم للبنات عن ترتيب الألعاب، لكلّ بنتٍ تحبّ الأميراتِ والقصور

كانت لعبة التنكّر رائعة: كانت لينا أميرةً وملكةً وحارساً ملكيّاً ومهرّجاً راقصاً، كلّ ذلك قبل الحمّام. لكنّ الأرض الآن جبلٌ من الأزياء: الفستان الورديّ، والعباءة البنفسجيّة، والعباءة الذهبيّة، وتاج، وثلاثة أوشحة، وحذاءٌ لامعٌ واحد.

The dress-up game had been brilliant. Lina had been a princess, a queen, a royal guard and a dancing jester, all before bath time. But now the floor was a mountain of costumes: the pink dress, the purple cape, the gold cape, a crown, three scarves and one glittery shoe.

قال بابا: «في القصر الحقيقيّ خزانةٌ ملكيّة، ولكلّ شيءٍ مكانه، وإلّا لما وجدت الأميرة تاجها أبداً.» وألصق صوراً صغيرةً على العلّاقات خلف الباب: فستان، عباءة، وشاح. «لنرَ إن كانت الملابس الملكيّة تجد طريقها إلى بيتها.»

"In a real palace," said Baba, "there's a royal wardrobe, and everything has its own place. Otherwise the princess would never find her crown." He stuck little picture labels on the hooks behind the door: a dress, a cape, a scarf. "Let's see if the royal clothes can find their way home."

فطابقت لينا كلّ زيٍّ بعلّاقته: الفستان الورديّ على علّاقة الفساتين، والعباءتان على علّاقة العباءات، والأوشحة مطويّةً في السلّة، والتاج على الرفّ. وظلّ الحذاء اللامع لغزاً، حتّى وجد بابا فردته الأخرى تحت السرير.

Lina matched each costume to its hook. The pink dress went on the dress hook, the capes on the cape hook, and the scarves were folded in the basket. The crown went on the shelf. The glittery shoe was a mystery, until Baba found the other one under the bed.

فنظر بابا حول الغرفة: «الخزانة الملكيّة جاهزةٌ لحفلة الغد.» ودثّرها، فرأت لينا العباءة الذهبيّة على علّاقتها تلمع في ضوء الممرّ، وهمست: «تصبحين على خير يا عباءة»، ونامت. النهاية.

Baba looked round the room. "The royal wardrobe is ready for tomorrow's ball," he said. He tucked Lina into bed. Lina could see the gold cape on its hook, catching the light from the hall. "Goodnight, cape," she whispered, and fell asleep. The end.
