الشحن طوال الليل

توقّف قطار لينا الجديد. قالت ماما: «إنّه متعب. البطّاريّة تحتاج إلى الشحن طوال الليل.»

Lina's new train stopped. "It's tired," said Mama. "The battery needs charging all night."

قالت لينا: «لكنّني أريد اللعب الآن!» فوصلته ماما بالشاحن، فأضاء ضوءٌ أخضر صغير.

"But I want to play now!" said Lina. Mama plugged it in. A little green light glowed.

فانتظرت لينا وقالت: «تصبح على خير يا قطار. نم جيّداً وكن قويّاً.»

Lina waited patiently by the shelf. She said, "Goodnight, little train. Sleep well and get strong."

فدثّرتها ماما وقالت: «انتظارٌ جميل.» ونام القطار، ونامت لينا أيضاً. النهاية.

Mama tucked her in. "Good waiting," she said. The train and Lina both slept. The end.

Talk about it together: What is something good that was worth waiting for?

Waiting is hard for young children. Show time with something they can see, like sleeps on a calendar.
Give your child something to do while waiting: a song, a drawing or counting cars.
Name the feeling: "Waiting is hard, and you are doing it."
