زجاج البحر عند تيتا

كان عند تيتا مرطبانٌ من زجاج البحر الأملس اللامع: أخضر، وأزرق، وأبيض، كحلوى صغيرة.

Teta had a jar of smooth, shiny sea glass. Green, blue and white, like little sweets.

فسألت لينا: «كيف صار أملس هكذا؟» قالت تيتا: «دحرجه البحر سنواتٍ طويلةً جدّاً.»

"How did it get so smooth?" asked Lina. "The sea rolled it for years and years," said Teta.

فأمسكت لينا قطعةً زرقاء، فكانت ناعمةً مستديرة، بلا حوافّ حادّةٍ أبداً.

Lina held a blue piece. It was soft and round, with no sharp edges at all.

قالت تيتا: «الأشياء الجميلة تحتاج إلى وقت.» وفي البيت دثّرتها ماما والزجاجة الزرقاء في يدها. النهاية.

"Good things take time," said Teta. Back home, Mama tucked Lina in, holding the blue glass. The end.

Waiting is hard for young children. Show time with something they can see, like sleeps on a calendar.
Give your child something to do while waiting: a song, a drawing or counting cars.
Name the feeling: "Waiting is hard, and you are doing it."
