Baba came upstairs to say goodnight and stopped suddenly at the bedroom door. Between him and the bed lay a wall of chaos: a collapsed block tower, an avalanche of picture books, a scattered jigsaw, two cushions and a dressing-up cape. He put his hands on his hips. "Oh dear, oh dear," he announced, in his best radio presenter's voice. "Reports are coming in of a massive traffic jam on the bedroom floor. All routes to the bed are blocked. Drivers are advised to stay where they are."
