قصة قبل النوم عن ترتيب الألعاب للأطفال الذين يحبّون السيارات

بعد الحمّام، نظرت ماما إلى أرض غرفة مَجْد وضحكت: «إنّها زحمة سير هنا!» كانت السيارات والشاحنات وحافلةٌ تغطّي السجّادة. فتنهّد مَجْد: «إنّها كثيرةٌ جدّاً، لا أستطيع ترتيبها كلّها.»

After bath time, Mama looked at Majd's bedroom floor and laughed. "It's a traffic jam in here!" Toy cars, trucks and a bus covered the rug. Majd sighed. "There are too many. I can't tidy all of them."

فأخذت ماما قطعة طباشير، ورسمت على الرفّ السفليّ خطوطاً بيضاء مثل مواقف السيارات أمام السوق، وقالت: «كلّ سيارةٍ تحتاج مكاناً لليل. هل تكون حارس الموقف؟»

Mama picked up a piece of chalk. Along the bottom shelf she drew white lines, like the parking spaces outside the supermarket. "Every car needs a space for the night," she said. "Can you be the car park attendant?"

فلبس مَجْد قبّعة بابا القديمة ونفخ في صفّارةٍ خياليّة. وواحدةً بعد الأخرى، صعدت السيارات السجّادة ودخلت أماكنها. احتاجت الحافلة الكبيرة مكانين، ووقفت سيارة الإطفاء في الآخر، جاهزةً للطوارئ.

Majd put on Baba's old cap and blew a pretend whistle. One by one, the cars drove up the rug and into their spaces. The big bus needed two spaces, and the fire engine went at the end, ready for emergencies.

وبعد قليلٍ فرغت السجّادة وامتلأ الرفّ، فأعلن مَجْد: «الموقف مغلقٌ الليلة.» فصفّقت ماما ودثّرته في السرير، فنام مَجْد وهو ينظر إلى صفّ السيارات المرتّب. النهاية.

Soon the rug was empty and the shelf was full. "The car park is closed for the night," Majd announced. Mama clapped and tucked him into bed. Majd fell asleep looking at the neat row of cars. The end.
