قصة قبل النوم للبنات عن اللطف ومساعدة الآخرين، لكلّ بنتٍ تحبّ السيارات

بعد العشاء، استلقت ماما على الكنبة، وعلى جبينها قطعة قماشٍ باردة. قال بابا بهدوء: «رأس ماما يؤلمها، فلنجعل البيت هادئاً.» فنظرت لينا إلى صندوق سياراتها؛ فألعابها عادةً صاخبةٌ جدّاً.

After dinner, Mama lay down on the sofa with a cool cloth on her forehead. "Mama has a headache," Baba said softly, "so let's keep the house nice and quiet." Lina looked at her box of toy cars. Usually her games were very noisy.

فاخترعت لعبةً جديدة: موقف السيارات الهادئ. رسمت مواقف على ورقة، ودخلت كلّ سيارةٍ صغيرةٍ ببطء، بلا أيّ فرررم. وقالت للسيارات: «هذا موقفٌ للهمس، فماما ترتاح.»

So she invented a new game: the Quiet Car Park. She drew parking spaces on a piece of paper, and each little car rolled in slowly, without a single vroom. "This is a whisper car park," she told the cars. "Mama is resting."

وحين وقفت كلّ السيارات في مواقفها، مشت لينا على أطراف أصابعها إلى المطبخ، وعادت بكوب ماء، ووضعت وسادةً ناعمةً خلف رأس ماما أيضاً. ففتحت ماما عينيها وابتسمت: «ما ألطفكِ وأهدأكِ!»

When all the cars were parked, Lina tiptoed to the kitchen and came back with a cup of water. She put a soft cushion behind Mama's head too. Mama opened her eyes and smiled. "What a kind, gentle helper you are," she said.

وفي وقتٍ لاحق، وضعها بابا في السرير، ودخلت ماما لتقبّلها وهمست: «صداعي ذهب تقريباً، وأظنّ أنّ قليلاً من اللطف ساعدني.» فابتسمت لينا وأغمضت عينيها. النهاية.

Later, Baba tucked Lina into bed, and Mama came in to kiss her goodnight. "My headache is almost gone," she whispered. "I think a little bit of kindness helped." Lina smiled and closed her eyes. The end.
