قصة قبل النوم عن ترتيب الألعاب للأطفال الذين يحبّون الأزهارَ والفراشات

بعد العشاء صنع مَجْد مع ماما تيجاناً من أقحوان الحديقة وبرسيمها، وكانت جميلة. لكنّ أرض المطبخ بعد ذلك امتلأت بالبتلات والسيقان المكسورة وقطع الأوراق الصغيرة. قالت ماما: «يا إلهي، وقت الترتيب قبل النوم.» فتأفّف مَجْد: «إنّها ملايين.»

After dinner, Majd and Mama made flower crowns from the daisies and clover in the garden. They were beautiful. But afterwards, the kitchen floor was covered in petals, broken stems and little bits of leaf. "Oh dear," said Mama. "Time to tidy before bed." Majd groaned. "There are millions."

قالت ماما: «ليست ملايين. لنفرزها: البتلات في الوعاء الأزرق، والسيقان في سلّة السماد.» فحبا مَجْد على الأرض يجمع البتلات: ورديّةٌ وبيضاء وصفراء، ووضعها في الوعاء، فملأته ماما بالماء.

"Not millions," said Mama. "Let's sort them. Petals in the blue bowl, stems in the compost bin." Majd crawled around the floor collecting petals. Some were pink, some white, some yellow. He put them in the bowl, and Mama filled it with water.

فطفت البتلات على السطح مثل بركةٍ ملوّنةٍ صغيرة. قال مَجْد: «إنّها جميلة!» وذهبت السيقان إلى سلّة السماد من أجل الحديقة، ومسحت ماما الطاولة، وكنس مَجْد آخر القطع بالمجرود والفرشاة.

The petals floated on top like a little colourful pond. "It's pretty!" said Majd. The stems went in the compost bin for the garden. Mama wiped the table, and Majd swept up the last bits with the dustpan and brush.

صار المطبخ نظيفاً، ووعاء البتلات في وسط الطاولة. قال مَجْد: «الترتيب صنع شيئاً جميلاً.» فحملته ماما إلى السرير ودثّرته، ووضعت التاج على الطاولة بجانب السرير، فنام مَجْد على رائحة الأقحوان. النهاية.

The kitchen was clean, and the petal bowl sat in the middle of the table. "Tidying made something pretty," said Majd. Mama carried him to bed and tucked him in, and put the flower crown on the bedside table. Majd fell asleep smelling daisies. The end.
