العجلة التي احتاجت وقتاً

يا إلهي! انخلعت عجلة السيارة الزرقاء. قالت لينا: «بابا، أصلحها الآن!»

Oh no! The wheel came off Lina's blue car. "Fix it, Baba!" she said. "Right now!"

فوضع بابا الغراء على العجلة وضغط وقال: «الآن يحتاج الغراء الليل كلّه ليجفّ.»

Baba put glue on the wheel and pressed. "Now the glue needs all night to dry," he said.

أرادت لينا أن تلمسها، لكنّها انتظرت. ووضع بابا السيارة على الرفّ العالي لترتاح.

Lina wanted to touch it. But she waited. Baba put the car on the high shelf to rest.

قالت لينا: «تصبحين على خير يا سيارتي الزرقاء.» فدثّرها بابا. يا لكِ من صبورة! النهاية.

"Goodnight, blue car," said Lina. Baba tucked her in. Patient girl! The end.

Talk about it together: What is something good that was worth waiting for?

Waiting is hard for young children. Show time with something they can see, like sleeps on a calendar.
Give your child something to do while waiting: a song, a drawing or counting cars.
Name the feeling: "Waiting is hard, and you are doing it."
