Bedtime story about welcoming a new baby for kids who love trains

كان بطن ماما مستديراً جدّاً الآن، والطفل سيصل قريباً. وفي وقت النوم أعطته طرداً صغيراً، فيه عربة قطارٍ صغيرةٌ جديدة، صفراء، على جانبها نجمةٌ صغيرة، وقالت: «إنّها لقطارك، وهذه للطفل.»
Mama's tummy was very round now, and the baby would arrive soon. At bedtime, she gave Majd a small parcel. Inside was a tiny new train carriage, painted yellow, with a little star on the side. "It's for your train," she said. "This one is the baby's."
فنظر مَجْد إلى قطاره: القاطر، ثمّ عربته الحمراء، ثمّ عربتا ماما وبابا الزرقاوان، وسأل: «أين تذهب عربة الطفل؟» فابتسمت ماما: «هذا قرارك، فأنت السائق.»
Majd looked at his train: the engine, then his own red carriage, then Mama and Baba's blue ones. "Where does the baby's go?" he asked. Mama smiled. "That's up to you. You're the driver."
ففكّر مَجْد جيّداً، ثمّ وصل العربة الصفراء خلف عربته الحمراء مباشرة، وشرح: «كي أنتبه للطفل. الإخوة الكبار في الأمام.» ودفع القطار ببطءٍ حول السكّة.
Majd thought carefully. Then he hooked the little yellow carriage right behind his own red one. "So I can keep an eye on the baby," he explained. "Big brothers go in front." He pushed the train slowly round the track.
ودثّرته ماما، والقطار على الرفّ صار طوله خمس عربات، وقالت: «قطار عائلتنا يكبر، وله أفضل سائق.» فابتسم مَجْد للعربة الصفراء الصغيرة ونام. النهاية.
Mama tucked Majd into bed with the train on the shelf, five carriages long now. "Our family train is getting bigger," she said. "And it has the best driver." Majd smiled at the little yellow carriage and fell asleep. The end.
