قصة قبل النوم عن الذهاب إلى الحضانة للأطفال الذين يحبّون القطارات

في السرير ليلة الحضانة، كان مَجْد قلقاً، وقال: «لا أعرف ماذا سأفعل طوال اليوم. ماذا لو ضعت؟ ماذا لو نسيتِني؟» فجلست ماما بجانبه ومعها قلمٌ وورقة.

In bed the night before nursery, Majd was worried. "I don't know what I'll do all day," he said. "What if I get lost? What if you forget me?" Mama sat beside him with a pencil and a piece of paper.

وقالت: «لنصنع جدول رحلةٍ مثل القطار الحقيقيّ.» ورسمت خطّاً طويلاً عليه دوائر: «المحطّة الأولى: مرحباً، حيث نعلّق معطفك. الثانية: ركن اللعب. الثالثة: محطّة الوجبة الخفيفة. الرابعة: بساط القصّة. والمحطّة الأخيرة؟»

"Let's make a timetable, like a real train," she said. She drew a long line with circles on it. "First station: Hello, where we hang up your coat. Second: Play Corner. Third: Snack Stop. Fourth: Story Mat. And the last station?"

قال مَجْد: «محطّة ماما!» فرسمت ماما قلباً كبيراً هناك وقالت: «هناك سأنتظر، كلّ يوم.» فأخذ مَجْد القلم ورسم قطاراً صغيراً في أوّل الخطّ، وهو في نافذته.

"Mama Station!" said Majd. Mama drew a big heart there. "That's where I'll be waiting, every single day," she said. Majd took the pencil and drew a little train at the start of the line, with himself in the window.

وثبّتت ماما الجدول قرب السرير ودثّرته، فنظر مَجْد إلى المحطّات مرّةً أخرى؛ لم يعد الغد لغزاً، بل رحلةً في آخرها ماما. ونام وهو أهدأ. النهاية.

Mama pinned the timetable by the bed and tucked Majd in. He looked at the stations one more time. Now tomorrow wasn't a mystery; it was a journey, with Mama at the end. Feeling calmer, he fell asleep. The end.
