قصة قبل النوم عن اللطف ومساعدة الآخرين للأطفال الذين يحبّون القطارات

عاد بابا متأخّراً، بعد حمّام مَجْد، وارتمى على الأريكة بحذاء العمل وأغمض عينيه وقال: «يومٌ طويل.» فنظر مَجْد إلى وجه بابا المتعب، ثمّ إلى قطاره الصغير الذي ينتظر قرب السكّة.

Baba came home late, after Majd's bath. He dropped onto the sofa, still in his work shoes, and closed his eyes. "Long day," he said. Majd looked at Baba's tired face and then at his toy train, waiting by the track.

فأحضر بهدوءٍ خفّي بابا من الممرّ ووضعهما على العربة المسطّحة، ثمّ أضاف وسادةً وكوب ماءٍ بحذرٍ شديدٍ في العربة التالية، وهمس: «قطار الخفّين السريع جاهز.»

Quietly, he fetched Baba's slippers from the hall and balanced them on the train's flat wagon. Then he added a cushion and a cup of water, very carefully, in the next carriage. "The Slipper Express is ready," he whispered.

«توت!» وسار القطار ببطءٍ على الأرض حتّى توقّف عند قدمي بابا. ففتح بابا عيناً ثمّ الأخرى، وضحك، وخلع حذاءه، وأدخل أصابعه في الخفّين الدافئين وقال: «أجمل توصيلةٍ على الإطلاق.»

"Toot!" The train rolled slowly across the floor and stopped right by Baba's feet. Baba opened one eye, then both. He laughed, took off his shoes and wriggled his toes into the warm slippers. "Best delivery ever," he said.

وفي وقت النوم دثّره بابا وهو يلبس خفّيه وقال: «لاحظت أنّني متعب، وساعدتني. هذا هو اللطف الحقيقيّ.» فابتسم مَجْد وأغمض عينيه وهو يشعر بالدفء. النهاية.

At bedtime, Baba tucked Majd in, wearing his slippers. "You noticed I was tired, and you helped," he said. "That's real kindness." Majd smiled and closed his eyes, feeling warm inside. The end.
