قصة قبل النوم عن استقبال أخٍ أو أختٍ صغيرة للأطفال الذين يحبّون الأميراتِ والقصور

منذ وصل الطفل يوسف والجميع يقولون إنّه أمير البيت الصغير، ولم يكن مَجْد متأكّداً أنّ ذلك يعجبه. والليلة راقب مَجْد وعلى رأسه تاج الأميرة ماما وهي تغيّر ليوسف على الفرشة، فبدا صغيراً جدّاً، أصلع جدّاً. فقال مَجْد: «ليس عنده تاجٌ حتّى.»

Since baby Yusuf arrived, everyone kept saying he was the little prince of the house. Majd wasn't sure he liked that. Tonight, in his princess crown, Majd watched Mama change Yusuf on the mat. He looked very small, and very bald. "He hasn't even got a crown," Majd said.

قالت ماما: «ربّما تصنع له واحداً، فالملوك الكبار يعتنون بالملوك الصغار.» ففكّر مَجْد، ثمّ أحضر ورقاً ومقصّاً والملصقات الذهبيّة، وقصّ تاجاً صغيراً جدّاً بثلاثة رؤوس، وألصق نجمةً ذهبيّةً في المقدّمة، وألصقت ماما الطرفين.

"Maybe you could make him one," said Mama. "Big royals look after little royals." Majd thought about it. Then he fetched paper, scissors and the gold stickers. He cut a very small crown, with three points, and stuck one gold star on the front. Mama taped the ends.

فوضعه مَجْد برفقٍ على رأس يوسف، فانزلق على إحدى عينيه، فحدّق يوسف في مَجْد ثمّ رفس برجليه وأطلق صيحةً فرحةً عالية. فقال مَجْد: «أعجبه!» قالت ماما: «أعجبته أنت، انظر كيف يراقبك.»

Majd placed it gently on Yusuf's head. It slipped over one eye. Yusuf stared up at Majd, then kicked his legs and made a loud, happy squeal. "He likes it!" said Majd. "He likes you," said Mama. "Look how he watches you."

ووُضع التاج الصغير على الرفّ بجانب تاج مَجْد الكبير، ودثّرته ماما: «ملكان في بيتٍ واحد: الكبير، والصغير الذي يقلّد كلّ ما يفعله الكبير.» فابتسم مَجْد للتاجين متجاورين، ونام. النهاية.

The tiny crown went on the shelf next to Majd's big one. Mama tucked Majd into bed. "Two royals in one house," she said. "The big one, and the little one who copies everything the big one does." Majd smiled at the two crowns side by side, and fell asleep. The end.
