Bedtime story about welcoming a new baby for kids who love dinosaurs

في وقت النوم، تكوّر مَجْد بجانب ماما. كان بطنها كبيراً مستديراً، وأحياناً يتحرّك. قالت ماما: «هذا الطفل يركل. قريباً سيولد، وتصير أخاً كبيراً.» فسكت مَجْد لحظة.
At bedtime, Majd snuggled up next to Mama. Her tummy was big and round, and sometimes it moved. "That's the baby kicking," said Mama. "Soon the baby will be born, and you'll be a big brother." Majd was quiet for a moment.
ثمّ همس: «ماما، حين يأتي الطفل، هل ستظلّين تحبّينني؟» فلفّت ماما ذراعيها حوله: «طبعاً! الحبّ ليس مثل الكعكة التي تصغر حين نتقاسمها. حين يأتي شخصٌ جديد، يكبر حبّنا أكثر.»
"Mama," he whispered, "when the baby comes, will you still love me?" Mama wrapped both arms around him. "Of course I will. Love isn't like a cake that gets smaller when you share it. When a new person comes, our love just grows bigger."
ففكّر مَجْد في ذلك، ثمّ نزل من السرير ونظر إلى رفّ الديناصورات، واختار ديناصوراً صغيراً طريّاً، مناسباً للأيدي الصغيرة، وقال: «هذا للطفل. كلّ أخٍ كبيرٍ يجب أن يقدّم هديّة.»
Majd thought about that. Then he climbed out of bed and looked along his dinosaur shelf. He chose a soft, squishy baby dinosaur, perfect for tiny hands. "This is for the baby," he said. "Every big brother should give a present."
فلمعت عينا ماما وقالت: «هذه ألطف هديّة.» ووضعت الديناصور الصغير في سلّة الطفل، ثمّ أعادته إلى السرير. ونام مَجْد وهو يفكّر في الطفل الجديد، فخوراً بأنّه الكبير. النهاية.
Mama's eyes shone. "That's the kindest present," she said. She put the little dinosaur in the baby's basket, then tucked Majd back into bed. Majd fell asleep thinking about the new baby, and feeling proud to be the big one. The end.
