Majd had spent the whole evening at the bedroom table making princess jewellery: a necklace for Teta, a bracelet for Mama, and a crown-shaped ring for himself. Now it was bedtime, and the floor looked as though a royal treasure chest had exploded. There were beads on the rug, beads under the bed, beads stuck to the soles of his feet. One had even rolled into Baba's slipper. "I'll tidy them tomorrow," said Majd, climbing into bed. "I'm too tired."
