قصة قبل النوم عن الذهاب إلى الحضانة للأطفال الذين يحبّون الأميراتِ والقصور

غداً يوم التنكّر في الحضانة، ووقت النوم لم يكن مَجْد قد قرّر بعد. فرفعت ماما تاج الأميرة والعباءة البنفسجيّة، وكان مَجْد يحبّهما، لكنّه عضّ شفته: «وإن لم يتنكّر أحدٌ غيري بزيّ أميرة؟ وإن ضحكوا؟»

Tomorrow was dress-up day at nursery, and at bedtime Majd still hadn't decided. Mama held up the princess crown and the purple cape. Majd loved them. But he chewed his lip. "What if nobody else dresses up as a princess? What if they laugh?"

فجلست ماما: «يوم التنكّر لنلبس ما يسعدنا، فبعض الأطفال سيكونون حيوانات، وبعضهم أطبّاء، وبعضهم أبطالاً خارقين، ولن يتشابه أحد، وهذا هو المرح.» ووضعت التاج على رأس مَجْد: «بماذا تشعر؟» فاعترف مَجْد: «بالسعادة.»

Mama sat down. "Dress-up day is for wearing what makes you happy," she said. "Some children will be animals, some will be doctors, some will be superheroes. Nobody will be the same. That's the fun." She put the crown on Majd's head. "How does it feel?" "Happy," admitted Majd.

قالت ماما: «إذن هذا جوابك، وإن سألك أحد فقل إنّها عباءة أميرةٍ حقيقيّة، وأنّك أمير بيتنا.» فضحك مَجْد، وتدرّبا على التلويح الملكيّ والانحناءة الملكيّة حتّى غرق في الضحك.

"Then that's your answer," said Mama. "And if anyone asks, you can tell them it's a real princess cape, and you're the princess of our house." Majd giggled. They practised a royal wave together, and a royal bow, until Majd was laughing.

ووضعت ماما التاج والعباءة على الكرسيّ جاهزين للغد، ثمّ دثّرته. فنظر مَجْد إلى التاج يلمع في ضوء الممرّ وقال نعسان: «سألوّح التلويحة الملكيّة عند البوّابة»، ونام. النهاية.

Mama laid the crown and cape on the chair, ready for tomorrow. Then she tucked Majd in. Majd looked at the crown glinting in the light from the hall. "I'll do the royal wave at the gate," he said sleepily, and fell asleep. The end.
