أوّل كرةٍ ليوسف

كان الطفل يوسف أصغر من أن يلعب الكرة، لكنّ لينا أحضرت له هديّة: كرةً صغيرةً طريّةً تخشخش.

Baby Yusuf was too little to play football. But Lina had a present: a tiny soft ball that jingled.

فهزّتها لينا بلطفٍ قرب سريره، فخشخشت! ففتح يوسف عينيه واسعتين.

Lina shook it gently by his cot. Jingle! Yusuf opened his eyes very wide.

فأمسك الكرة بيده الصغيرة وشدّ عليها، فقالت لينا: «أعجبته!»

He grabbed the ball with his little hand and held it tight. "He likes it!" said Lina.

قالت ماما: «أوّل كرةٍ له، من أخته الكبيرة.» ودثّرتها في السرير. النهاية.

"His first ball, from his big sister," said Mama, and tucked Lina into bed. The end.

خصّصوا كلّ يومٍ وقتاً قصيراً لطفلكم الأكبر وحده معكم.
أعطوه مهمّاتٍ حقيقيّة، مثل اختيار جوارب المولود أو الغناء له.
المشاعر المختلطة طبيعيّة. دعوا طفلكم يقول «أشتاق إلى الوقت الذي كنتُ فيه وحدي» دون أن تلوموه.

Keep a little special time each day with your older child, just the two of you.
Give real helper jobs, like choosing the baby's socks or singing to them.
Mixed feelings are normal. Let your child say "I miss when it was just me" without telling them off.
