قصة قبل النوم للبنات عن استقبال أخٍ أو أختٍ صغيرة، لكلّ بنتٍ تحبّ الديناصورات

كانت الصغيرة لولو في أسبوعها الثالث، والليلة لم تتوقّف عن البكاء. كانت ماما تمشي ذهاباً وإياباً، تهزّها وتربّت على ظهرها، لكنّ لولو كانت تبكي أعلى. وجلست لينا على الكنبة ويداها على أذنيها؛ فالأطفال الصغار مزعجون جدّاً.

Baby Lulu was only three weeks old, and tonight she would not stop crying. Mama walked up and down, rocking her and patting her back, but Lulu just cried louder. Lina sat on the sofa with her hands over her ears. Babies were very noisy.

ثمّ عادت إلى لينا الأغنية التي كان بابا يغنّيها لها حين كانت صغيرةً، عن ديناصورٍ نعسان. فأخذت ديناصورها الطريّ، واقتربت على أطراف أصابعها، وغنّت بصوتٍ خافتٍ جدّاً وهي تهزّ الديناصور: «يا ديناصوري الصغير، أغمض عينيك، فالقمر عالٍ في السماء.»

Then Lina remembered the song Baba sang to her when she was little, about a sleepy dinosaur. She picked up her soft toy dinosaur, tiptoed over and sang very quietly, making the dinosaur sway: "Little dino, close your eyes, the moon is high up in the skies."

فخفت بكاء لولو، وفتحت عينيها تنظر إلى الديناصور المتمايل. وغنّت لينا الأغنية مرّةً أخرى، بصوتٍ أنعم. فشهقت لولو شهقةً صغيرة، ثمّ تثاءبت، والتفّت أصابعها الصغيرة حول ذيل الديناصور. همست ماما: «لقد نجحتِ! إنّها تحبّ أغنيتك.»

Lulu's crying grew quieter. She opened her eyes and watched the swaying dinosaur. Lina sang the song again, even more softly. Lulu gave a little hiccup, then a yawn, and her tiny fingers curled around the dinosaur's tail. "You did it," whispered Mama. "She loves your song."

وبعد قليلٍ نامت لولو في سريرها نوماً عميقاً. ووضعها بابا في السرير وقبّلها وقال: «لولو محظوظةٌ بأختٍ كبيرةٍ مثلكِ.» فابتسمت لينا؛ كان شعور الكبير جميلاً. النهاية.

Soon Lulu was fast asleep in her cot. Baba tucked Lina into bed and kissed her goodnight. "Lulu is lucky to have a big sister like you," he said. Lina smiled. Being the big one felt good. The end.
