قصة قبل النوم عن اللطف ومساعدة الآخرين للأطفال الذين يحبّون كرةَ القدم

في مساء كلّ خميسٍ يلعب بابا كرة القدم مع أصدقائه في الحديقة العامّة، وحين يعود يترك حذاءه قرب الباب. كان مغطّىً بطينٍ كثيفٍ وقطع عشب. قال: «سأنظّفه لاحقاً.» وارتمى على الأريكة، وسرعان ما بدأ يتثاءب.

On Thursday evenings, Baba played football with his friends at the park. When he came home, he dropped his boots by the door. They were covered in thick mud and bits of grass. "I'll clean them later," he said, and he flopped onto the sofa. Soon he was yawning.

فنظر مَجْد إلى الحذاء ثمّ إلى بابا، وخطرت له فكرة. فأحضرت ماما جرائد قديمةً وفرشاةً ناعمة، وجلس مَجْد على العتبة الخلفيّة مع الحذاء، ونفض الكتل الكبيرة أوّلاً، ثمّ القطع الصغيرة العالقة بين النتوءات.

Majd looked at the boots, then at Baba. He had an idea. Mama found some old newspaper and a soft brush, and Majd sat on the back step with the boots. He brushed off the big lumps first, then the little bits stuck in the studs.

وساعدت ماما في مسحه بقطعة قماشٍ مبلّلة، وحين انتهيا صفّ مَجْد الحذاء بترتيبٍ قرب الباب، جاهزاً للخميس القادم. ففتح بابا عيناً واحدةً وسأل: «من نظّف حذائي؟» فابتسم مَجْد: «مساعدك.»

Mama helped wipe them with a damp cloth. When they were finished, Majd lined the boots up neatly by the door, ready for next Thursday. Baba opened one eye. "Who cleaned my boots?" he asked. Majd grinned. "Your helper did."

فضمّ بابا مَجْد ضمّةً كبيرةً ناعسة وقال: «أفضل زميلٍ في الفريق.» ثمّ ساعدت ماما مَجْد في غسل يديه الموحلتين، ودثّرته في السرير، فنام فخوراً. النهاية.

Baba gave Majd a big, sleepy hug. "Best teammate ever," he said. Then Mama helped Majd wash his muddy hands, and tucked him into bed. He fell asleep feeling proud. The end.
