Majd's flower-pressing project had taken over the dining table. There were heavy books stacked with blotting paper between them, piles of flowers waiting to be pressed, dried ones that had already been done, scissors, glue, ribbon, and a half-finished bookmark for Teta. Petals had drifted onto the floor and under the chairs. It had been a lovely evening, but now Mama needed the table back, and it was nearly bedtime. Majd looked at it all and felt overwhelmed. "If I move anything, the flowers will get crushed," he said. "It'll take forever."
