Baby Yusuf had been home for three days, and in that time the house had filled up with visitors. They brought enormous bouquets of roses and lilies, and every surface in the living room had a vase on it. Everyone cooed over the baby. Some of them remembered to say hello to Majd, but most of them didn't. By the evening, Majd was sitting on the stairs, chin in his hands. "Nobody even noticed me today," he told Mama when she came to find him. "They only care about the baby and their flowers."
