لينا تنتظر حكاية الديناصورات

كان عند لينا كتابٌ جديدٌ عن الديناصورات: «بابا، اقرأه الآن!» لكنّ بابا كان يغسل الصحون.

Lina had a new dinosaur book. "Read it now, Baba!" But Baba was washing the dishes.

قال بابا: «بعد خمس دقائق.» الانتظار صعب! فعدّت لينا الديناصورات في الصور: واحد، اثنان، ثلاثة...

"In five minutes," said Baba. Waiting is hard! So Lina counted the dinosaurs in the pictures. One, two, three...

«اثنا عشر ديناصوراً!» ثمّ نشّف بابا يديه وقال: «شكراً لأنّك انتظرتِ بلطف. وقت الحكاية!»

"Twelve dinosaurs!" Then Baba dried his hands. "Thank you for waiting so nicely. Story time!"

وقرأ بابا الكتاب كلّه في السرير، ثمّ قبّلها قبلة النوم. لقد جعل الانتظار الحكاية أجمل. النهاية.

Baba read the whole book in bed. Then he kissed Lina goodnight. Waiting made the story extra special. The end.

Talk about it together: What is something good that was worth waiting for?

Waiting is hard for young children. Show time with something they can see, like sleeps on a calendar.
Give your child something to do while waiting: a song, a drawing or counting cars.
Name the feeling: "Waiting is hard, and you are doing it."
