قصة قبل النوم للبنات عن الذهاب إلى الحضانة، لكلّ بنتٍ تحبّ الديناصورات

بعد العشاء، أحضر بابا حقيبة ظهرٍ جديدة، عليها ديناصورٌ أخضرُ كبير، وقال: «هذه لغد، لأوّل يومٍ لك في الحضانة.» فلمست لينا عين الديناصور اللامعة. كانت الحقيبة جميلة، لكنّ بطنها كان يرفرف من القلق.

After dinner, Baba brought out a brand-new backpack with a big green dinosaur on the front. "This is for tomorrow," he said, "your first day at nursery." Lina touched the dinosaur's shiny eye. It was a lovely bag, but her tummy felt fluttery.

وجهّزاها معاً: قارورة ماء، وثياباً إضافيّة «للاحتياط»، وعلبةً صغيرةً من الزبيب لوقت الوجبة الخفيفة. ثمّ قالت لينا بهدوء: «بابا، وماذا لو بكيت حين تذهب؟» فجلس بابا على الأرض بجانبها.

They packed it together. In went a water bottle, a spare set of clothes "just in case", and a little box of raisins for snack time. "Baba," said Lina quietly, "what if I cry when you leave?" Baba sat down on the floor beside her.

قال: «لا بأس أن تبكي قليلاً. هيّا نضع خطّةً للوداع، لتعرفي تماماً ماذا سيحدث: عناقٌ كبير، ثمّ تلويحة ديناصورٍ من النافذة. ثمّ تذهبين لتلعبي، وبعد وقت الحكاية أعود.» وتدرّبا على ذلك مرّتين، وضحكا من تلويحات الديناصور.

"It's okay to cry a little," he said. "Let's make a goodbye plan, so you know exactly what will happen. A big hug, then a dinosaur wave through the window. Then you go and play, and after story time I come back." They practised it twice, laughing at their dinosaur waves.

ثمّ وضع بابا الحقيبة عند الباب، جاهزةً للغد، ووضعها في السرير. همست لينا كأنّها تغنّي أغنيةً صغيرة: «عناق، تلويحة، لعب، بابا يعود.» فهدأت الرفرفة في بطنها، وبعد قليلٍ نامت نوماً عميقاً. النهاية.

Baba put the backpack by the door, ready for tomorrow, and tucked Lina into bed. "Hug, wave, play, Baba comes back," whispered Lina, like a little song. The fluttery feeling grew calmer. Soon she was fast asleep. The end.
