قصة قبل النوم عن الذهاب إلى الحضانة للأطفال الذين يحبّون الديناصورات

في وقت النوم، جلست ماما على سرير مَجْد وقالت: «غداً يومٌ كبير، أوّل يومٍ لك في الحضانة!» فضمّ مَجْد ريكس، ديناصوره الصغير، وهمس: «وماذا لو لم يعجبني المكان؟ وماذا لو اشتقت إليك؟»

At bedtime, Mama sat on Majd's bed. "Tomorrow is a big day," she said. "Your first day at nursery!" Majd pulled Rex, his little toy dinosaur, close. "What if I don't like it?" he whispered. "What if I miss you?"

قالت ماما بلطف: «لا بأس أن تقلق، فالجميع يقلقون في اليوم الأوّل. في الحضانة رسمٌ وأغانٍ وحوضُ رمل، وأطفالٌ جددٌ مثلك. ومعلّمتك، الآنسة هدى، لطيفةٌ جدّاً.» ثمّ ابتسمت: «ويستطيع ريكس أن يأتي معك في حقيبتك.»

"It's okay to feel worried," said Mama gently. "Everyone does on a first day. At nursery there will be painting, songs, a sandpit and other children who are new too. Your teacher, Miss Huda, is very kind." She smiled. "And Rex can come with you, in your bag."

سأل مَجْد: «وهل ستعودين لتأخذيني؟» قالت ماما: «دائماً. بعد الوجبة الخفيفة ووقت الحكاية، سأكون عند الباب، وتحكي لي كلّ شيء.» ففكّر مَجْد قليلاً؛ الرسم يبدو ممتعاً، وريكس سيكون معه.

"And will you come back for me?" asked Majd. "Always," said Mama. "After snack time and story time, I'll be waiting at the door, and you can tell me everything." Majd thought about it. Painting did sound fun. And Rex would be with him.

ثمّ لفّت ماما البطانيّة حول مَجْد وريكس، وهمست: «أنت أشجع ممّا تظنّ.» فتثاءب مَجْد. صار القلق أصغر الآن، صغيراً حتّى يتّسع له الجيب. وأغمض عينيه ونام، مستعدّاً للغد. النهاية.

Mama tucked the blanket around Majd and Rex. "You're braver than you think," she whispered. Majd yawned. The worried feeling was smaller now, small enough to fit in a pocket. He closed his eyes and fell asleep, ready for tomorrow. The end.
