Majd's tiara was the best thing in the dress-up box: silver, with pink stones that caught the light, a present from Teta. After bath time, Majd liked to wear it while Mama got Lulu ready for bed, pretending to be a princess walking through the palace halls. Tonight, Lulu noticed. She stopped kicking on the changing mat, fixed her eyes on the sparkles, and reached up with both hands, making the loud, insistent noise that meant I want that. "No, Lulu," said Majd, stepping back. "This is mine. You'll break it."
