قصة قبل النوم عن المشاركة وتبادل الأدوار للأطفال الذين يحبّون الحيوانات

جاء سامي مع عائلته إلى العشاء، وبعده أفرغ الاثنان صندوق حيوانات مَجْد الكبير، وخلال دقيقةٍ بدأ الشجار: «أريد الأسود!» «لا، أخذتها أوّلاً!» وأمسك سامي الزرافة، فانتزعها مَجْد منه.

Sami came for dinner with his family, and afterwards the two cousins tipped out Majd's big box of toy animals. Within a minute they were arguing. "I want the lions!" "No, I had them first!" Sami grabbed the giraffe, and Majd grabbed it back.

فجثت ماما وقالت: «هنا حيواناتٌ تكفي لحديقةٍ كاملة، لكنّ الحديقة تحتاج إلى أكثر من حارسٍ واحد. لماذا لا يعتني كلٌّ منكما ببعض الحيوانات، وتبنيان معاً حديقةً واحدةً كبيرة؟»

Mama knelt down. "There are enough animals here for a whole zoo," she said. "But a zoo needs more than one keeper. Why don't you each look after some of the animals, and build one big zoo together?"

فبنى مَجْد بيت الأسود من الوسائد، وصنع سامي غابة القرود من أصص النباتات، وتشاركا الزرافة: سكنت في الوسط حيث يراها الجميع. وبعد قليلٍ صارا يخترعان مواعيد الإطعام، ويأخذان مشمش القطّة في جولات.

So Majd built the lion enclosure with cushions, and Sami made a monkey forest from the plant pots. They shared the giraffe; she lived in the middle, where everyone could see her. Soon they were inventing feeding times and giving tours to Mishmish the cat.

وحين عاد سامي إلى بيته، دثّرته ماما وقالت: «حارسان صنعا حديقةً أجمل بكثيرٍ من حارسٍ واحد.» فأومأ مَجْد بنعاس؛ فقد جعلت المشاركة اللعبة أكبر مرّتين. وبعد قليلٍ نام. النهاية.

When Sami went home, Mama tucked Majd into bed. "Two keepers made a much better zoo than one," she said. Majd nodded sleepily. Sharing the animals had made the game twice as big. Soon he was asleep. The end.
