قصة قبل النوم عن المشاركة وتبادل الأدوار للأطفال الذين يحبّون الديناصورات

جاء وقت النوم بعد مساءٍ مزدحم. نظّف مَجْد أسنانه، ولبس ثياب النوم المرسوم عليها آثار أقدام ديناصوراتٍ صغيرة، وصعد إلى السرير مع دينو، الديناصور الأخضر الناعم الذي ينام بجانبه منذ كان رضيعاً. ولفّتهما ماما بالبطانيّة، وقبّلت جبين مَجْد، وخفّفت النور. وفي النافذة، كان القمر ابتسامةً فضّيّةً رفيعة.

Bedtime came after a busy evening. Majd brushed his teeth, put on his pyjamas with the little dinosaur footprints, and climbed into bed with Dino, the soft green dinosaur he had slept beside since he was a baby. Mama tucked them in, kissed Majd's forehead and dimmed the light. Outside the window, the moon was a thin silver smile.

في الحلم، تمطّى دينو وكبر حتّى صار طويلاً كالأشجار، وصارت الغرفة غابةً خضراءَ دافئة. قال بصوتٍ عميقٍ مرح: «أنا جائعٌ جدّاً! هل نجمع العشاء؟» فتجوّلا بين السراخس العملاقة، وجمع مَجْد حزمةً من أكثر الأوراق قرمشة، تلك التي تتكسّر مثل البسكويت.

In his dream, Dino stretched and grew until he was as tall as the trees, and the bedroom became a warm, green forest. "I'm starving," he rumbled happily. "Shall we gather dinner?" They wandered between giant ferns, and Majd collected an armful of the crunchiest leaves, the kind that snap like biscuits.

وعند جدول ماء، وجدا ديناصوراً صغيراً يجلس وحيداً، وبطنه يقرقر بصوتٍ عالٍ. همس الصغير: «الأوراق عاليةٌ جدّاً، والديناصورات الكبيرة أكلت كلّ الأوراق المنخفضة.» فضمّ مَجْد أوراقه بقوّةٍ أكبر قليلاً؛ فقد قطفها بعنايةٍ كبيرة، وكان جائعاً أيضاً. ونظر الصغير إلى الأوراق ولعق شفتيه.

Beside a stream, they found a baby dinosaur sitting all alone. His tummy was rumbling loudly. "The leaves are too high," he whispered, "and the big dinosaurs ate all the low ones." Majd hugged his leaves a little tighter. He had picked them so carefully, and he was hungry too. The baby gazed at the leaves and licked his lips.

ثمّ نظر مَجْد إلى وجه الصغير الحزين وفكّر: «ماذا لو كنتُ مكانه؟» فجثا على ركبتيه، وفرش الأوراق على العشب، وقال: «هيّا نتقاسمها: ورقةٌ لك، وورقةٌ لي، وورقةٌ لدينو.» وأكل الثلاثة معاً عند الجدول، وبدت الأوراق أطيب من قبل.

Then Majd looked at the baby's sad face and thought, "What if that were me?" He knelt down and spread the leaves out on the grass. "Let's share. One for you, one for me, and one for Dino." The three of them munched together by the stream, and somehow the leaves tasted even better than before.

ثمّ صارت الغابة ضبابيّةً هادئة، وطار الحلم بعيداً. وكان مَجْد في سريره، ودينو دافئٌ تحت ذقنه، والقمر الرفيع ما زال يبتسم في النافذة. فتدثّر أكثر، وهو يشعر بالشبع والطمأنينة. وأدرك أنّ المشاركة جعلت ديناصوراً وحيداً صديقاً جديداً، وهمس: «تصبح على خير يا دينو.» النهاية.

The forest grew misty and quiet, and the dream floated away. Majd was in his own bed, Dino warm under his chin, the thin moon still smiling at the window. He snuggled deeper, feeling full and peaceful. Sharing, he realised, had turned a lonely little dinosaur into a friend. "Goodnight, Dino," he whispered. The end.
