قصة قبل النوم للبنات عن المشاركة وتبادل الأدوار، لكلّ بنتٍ تحبّ الديناصورات

كان المساء قد أظلم حين رنّ جرس الباب. جاءت الخالة ومعها سامي ابن خالتها في زيارةٍ قصيرةٍ قبل النوم. ولم تستطع لينا الانتظار لتريه أحدث ديناصورٍ في مجموعتها: ديناصوراً أخضرَ كبيراً، ذيله يهتزّ، وفكّه ينفتح واسعاً جدّاً.

The evening was already dark when the doorbell rang. Auntie had popped round with Lina's cousin Sami for a short visit before bedtime. Lina could hardly wait to show him the newest member of her dinosaur collection: a big green T-rex with a tail that wiggled and a jaw that opened wide enough to swallow a whole banana... well, almost.

سأل سامي وعيناه تلمعان: «واو! هل أجرّبه؟» فضمّت لينا الديناصور إلى صدرها؛ فهو جديد، ولم تلعب به إلّا مرّتين. وقالت: «ربّما لاحقاً.» لكنّ سامي مدّ يده إلى الذيل، وتمسّكت لينا بالرأس، وفجأةً صار الأمر شدّاً وجذباً. «لي!» «لا، لي!» وعلت أصواتهما، وذهبت المتعة كلّها.

"Whoa! Can I have a go?" asked Sami, his eyes shining. Lina hugged the T-rex. It was brand new, and she had only played with it twice. "Maybe later," she said. But Sami reached for the tail anyway, Lina held on to the head, and suddenly they were in a tug of war. "Mine!" "No, mine!" Their voices grew louder, and the fun drained away.

ثمّ لاحظت لينا شيئاً: الديناصور نفسه لم يكن يستمتع؛ فهو عالقٌ بين طفلين يشدّانه، لا يستطيع أن يمشي أو يزأر. فقالت وهي ترخي يدها قليلاً: «انتظر! الديناصور يحتاج إلى رأسٍ وذيلٍ ليمشي جيّداً. ما رأيك أن تحرّك الذيل وأنا أحرّك الرأس؟» فابتسم سامي، ومعاً جعلا الديناصور يمشي ويتشمّم ويرقص على السجّادة، بينما ضحكت الخالة وماما على الكنبة.

Then Lina noticed something: the T-rex was not having fun either. Stuck between two pulling children, he could not stomp or roar at all. "Wait," she said, letting go a little. "A T-rex needs a head and a tail to walk properly. You do the tail, and I'll do the head?" Sami grinned. Together they made the T-rex stomp, sniff and dance across the rug, while Auntie and Mama laughed from the sofa.

وسريعاً، قالت الخالة إنّ وقت الذهاب قد حان. وعند الباب، التفت سامي وقال: «كانت هذه أجمل لعبة ديناصورات!» فقالت لينا: «في المرّة القادمة أحضر ديناصوراتك، ونصنع عائلةً كاملة.» وبعد حمّامٍ دافئ، وضعتها ماما في السرير. وكان الديناصور واقفاً على الرفّ، وفكّه مفتوحٌ كأنّه يبتسم، فابتسمت لينا له؛ فقد جعلت المشاركة اللعبة الجديدة أغلى وأجمل. النهاية.

All too soon, Auntie said it was time to go. At the door, Sami turned round. "That was the best dinosaur game ever," he said. "Next time, bring yours too," said Lina, "and we'll make a whole dinosaur family." After a warm bath, Mama tucked Lina into bed. The T-rex stood on the shelf, his jaws open in what looked like a smile. Lina smiled back: sharing had made the new toy even more special. The end.
