قصة قبل النوم عن اللطف ومساعدة الآخرين للأطفال الذين يحبّون الديناصورات

بعد عشاءٍ من شوربة العدس والخبز الدافئ، جاء وقت الحمّام. كان مَجْد يحبّ هذا الوقت، لأنّ لعبتيه المطّاطيّتين تخرجان فيه للّعب: ديناصورٌ كبيرٌ لطيفٌ ذو عنقٍ طويل، هو الماما دائماً في اللعبة، وديناصورٌ صغيرٌ جدّاً يتّسع له كفّه. والليلة أضافت ماما فقاعاتٍ كثيرة، فصار الحوض مثل مستنقعٍ ضبابيٍّ من زمن الديناصورات.

After a dinner of lentil soup and warm bread, it was bath time. Majd loved bath time, because that was when his two rubber dinosaurs came out to play: a big, gentle one with a long neck, who was always the mama, and a baby dinosaur so tiny that he fitted in his palm. Tonight Mama added extra bubbles, and the bath looked like a misty swamp from the time of the dinosaurs.

Majd made the baby dinosaur paddle off to explore. He swam past the soap, around the tap and right behind a mountain of bubbles. Then Majd put on a tiny, wobbly voice: "Mama? Where are you? I can't find my way back!" The big dinosaur answered in a deep, gentle voice, "I'm here, little one!" But the bubbles were too thick for the baby to see her.

وتذكّر مَجْد يوم أضاع بابا لحظةً في السوق المزدحم، وكيف شعر أنّه صغيرٌ وقلق. فهمس: «انتظر، أنا قادم!» ثمّ أزاح الفقاعات بيديه برفق، حتّى انفتح في الماء طريقٌ صغير، وقاد الصغير عبره إلى أمّه. فتلامس أنفا الديناصورين في عناقٍ سعيد.

Majd remembered the day he lost sight of Baba for a moment at the busy market, and how small and worried he had felt. "Hold on, I'm coming," he whispered. With both hands, he gently pushed the bubbles aside until a little path of water opened up. Then he floated the baby along the path, right up to his mama. The two dinosaurs bumped noses in a happy hug.

وكانت ماما تستمع عند الباب مبتسمة، فقالت: «ما فعلته كان لطيفاً جدّاً»، ولفّته بمنشفةٍ دافئةٍ ناعمة. وبعد قليل، كان في ثياب النوم الناعمة، وقد نظّف أسنانه، ومتدثّراً بالبطانيّة، بينما جلس الديناصوران المطّاطيّان جنباً إلى جنبٍ على الرفّ ليجفّا. همس: «تصبحون على خير يا عائلة الديناصورات الصغيرة»، ونام وفي قلبه شعورٌ دافئٌ لطيف. النهاية.

Mama had been listening at the door, and she was smiling. "That was a very kind thing to do," she said, wrapping Majd in a warm, fluffy towel. Soon he was in soft pyjamas with clean teeth, tucked under the blanket, while the two rubber dinosaurs dried side by side on the shelf. "Goodnight, little dinosaur family," whispered Majd, and he fell asleep with a warm, kind feeling inside. The end.
