That evening, Lina had been grumpy. At dinner, she had snapped at her little cousin Sami, who kept asking questions, and she had gone to bed feeling a bit ashamed, though she wouldn't have admitted it. Baba read a chapter about astronauts, switched off the lamp, and the glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling appeared one by one. Somewhere between the third star and the fourth, Lina fell asleep, and found herself standing on a dark hill, with something faint and silvery tangled in the bushes at her feet.
