Lina had been in a bad mood all evening. At school, she had been left out of a game at break, and nobody had even noticed she was sad. She went to bed early and lay looking at the ceiling, and eventually fell into a strange, vivid dream. She was in an enormous walled garden at night, lit by lanterns hanging from the trees. Flowers of every colour filled the beds: roses, lilies, tall blue delphiniums, all of them nodding and whispering to each other in the warm air.
