Jumjum had been Lina's cuddly camel for as long as she could remember. His fur was worn thin on one side from years of hugging, and one ear had been sewn back on twice. Tonight, after Mama had read three pages about desert caravans and tucked them both in, Lina lay with Jumjum under her chin, listening to the house settle. The last thing she remembered was the moon through the curtains, round and white as a coin.
